How to change the combination on a Kwikset Powerbolt 1000?

Resetting the code:

Please follow these instructions to reset the code on your Powerbolt 1000 unit.

1. Remove the inner cover plate from the lock.
2. Locate the small round program button near the left side of the circuit board (Red or Black).
3. To program, the latch should be extended out in the lock position.
4. • Press the reset button once.
   •  Enter you 4 to 8 digit code on the exterior keypad follow by the by the lock button. You will hear a beep.
   • Re enter the same 4 to 8 digit code to confirm, the latch should retract to confirm programming. This signals that your code has been accepted.
    
5. To enter  a second code, follow the same procedures as in step 3, but this time press the reset button twice the enter your code. 

Changing the password code:

 Please  follow instructions.

1.  Manually put the bolt in extended position
2. Press PROGRAM button once
3. Enter new 4 to 8 digit code follow by the LOCK button once
4. Press PROGRAM button twice
5. Enter the same new code follow by the LOCK button once
6. Press PROGRAM button three times
7. Enter the same new code follow by the LOCK button once

This steps will program only the new code you enter for your unit.
